Join us on a journey!

As mentioned in our first newsletter, we provide an update every month with fun, important and special events. This way we take you along on our adventure and we get the feeling that we are on a journey together to give Battaglini extra virgin olive oil a place among olive oil lovers who appreciate its high quality and good taste.

New points of sale

In addition to the online store , Proef de Tuin in Boskoop became the first physical location where you could buy our products. We started carefully with a few cans of Extra Virgin Olive Oil and after the Christmas market in December 2023 we discovered that the special aromas are very popular, partly because the bottles look nice according to buyers. We have now expanded our range in that store with the Aromatizzato collection. We have also opened a second location in 't Bint , part of Het Land van Oirschot . We now offer our Extra Vierge and Aromatizzato collection there too and we obviously hope that it will be a success there too.

Expanding catering relationships

We are convinced of the quality of our products. That is why we also believe that restaurants can make existing dishes on the menu extra tasty by using high-quality Extra Virgin olive oil. At the same time, we understand that many establishments have not yet fully recovered from the malaise in 2020 and the years following. The reasons are known to many of us. That is why we are proud of the restaurants Dell Angelo , Il Ponte , Il Gusto and Sicilia , which have chosen to work with our olive oil in the kitchen and also present the bottles on the tables. The prevailing belief is that customers also appreciate the quality and taste of dishes more, may return more often and make more word-of-mouth advertising. In other words, the investment in more expensive olive oil will certainly be recouped.

Even more offers

Many people are now willing to pay a little more for a good product that guarantees high quality, excellent taste and sustainable production. Nevertheless, it remains important to pay attention to your finances because you can only spend each euro once. That is why we put together sets with combinations of various products and flavors, which we offer for a significantly lower price than the sum of the individual products. We have now made 4 such sets, each with its own character and taste palette. We do our best to create a suitable combination of flavors for everyone, for various applications.

The Truffle Treat, for example, is very suitable for fish, meat and homemade dressings. The Spicy Couple conceals an explosion of flavors with garlic and many powerful aromas. The Spicy Party is delicious on meat and fish and the Salad Set makes a fresh contribution to salads and dressings. Of course, it remains very personal which flavors you want to combine with your dishes. If you have any ideas or suggestions, we would of course like to hear from you. By sharing we can introduce more people to the many uses of olive oil and delicious recipes.

In February we received a tip from a customer that he not only purchases the olive oil for his own use, but also gives it to family, friends and relations as a gift for special occasions. We were advised to pack it a bit more festively. Of course we did something with that right away. In addition to the existing gift vouchers, you can now also have a gift packaging made that we will send directly for you to the people who deserve to be surprised by you.

Participation in international competition

We are still building up in the Netherlands and Belgium, in Italy the Battaglini family has been making olive oil in an honest and traditional way since 1938. Naturally, we are convinced of the great taste and high quality of our products and this is confirmed by our customers. When we heard that there is an international competition in the Netherlands to choose the best olive oil in the world, we took the plunge. After reading the conditions, we registered. At this point, we have registered, collected the necessary samples and submitted required test certificates. In April we hand in the samples and the experts go to work to assess the olive oil's taste, smell, color and chemical composition. Exciting and at the same time very fun to do. Of course we will keep you informed and keep our fingers crossed that we will finish high.

Recipes

Although we have been making Italian dishes ourselves for many years, we have never gotten around to writing down which ingredients we use and in what quantities. So we don't actually have a recipe, do you recognize that? 😊 Are you the one who has devised or used a recipe for making delicious Italian dishes, please let us know. We want to offer everyone on our socials and website an opportunity to learn and enjoy each other's recipes, so that we can create a little more Italy in the Netherlands and Belgium together.
